I don’t know about you, but I find it hard these days to believe anything produced by the media, especially mainstream media. For nearly 2 decades, I’ve hardly bothered with a daily newspaper nor watch the television and I hardly listen to the radio broadcasts. I don’t own a TV set anymore - I gave them away shortly after Bill passed away.
A lie is a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive, It is an intentional untruth or a falsehood and is designed to convey a false impression. If it is repeated long enough, it becomes believable.
We’ve all told lies at some point in our lives – from a little white lie to a big lie – when we felt we needed to under the circumstances. Sometimes we get away with it, sometimes we don’t. Telling lies can make you feel better at the time, but often it can backfire on you, especially when you have to create another lie to back up the first lie. It can cause anxiety and eventually shame and distress when you are caught out.
It pays to be truthful. It is difficult sometimes, but it is worth it. Telling the truth can be very painful but it is far less painful than being found out in a lie.
Happy Wednesday!
